ABOUT

BIO

Specialising in scenes which reflect the Sea and Shoreline and Landscapes based on her experience of all the seasons, Elizabeth Williams creates artwork which reflects the elemental tone and texture of the natural world.

In addition Elizabeth also paints still life subjects from live set ups, under controlled lighting, in her studio, which vary between classical realism in the style of the old masters to that of looser, contemporary paintings in a place between Realism and the Abstract.

Following the Brexit results, Elizabeth decided that another move must be made – and this time she chose southern Spain, Marbella where she has lived since 2020.

Andalusia has always enchanted Elizabeth for its beautiful light and countryside, from the rocky shore lines of Mijas Costa and coastlines going west down towards Gibraltar.

Still painting her seascapes and cloudscapes Elizabeth has adapted to her new country producing fresh new work for her collectors, and she is very excited to participate in the big Art Festival currently taking place in central Marbella. Her work has been accepted into prestigious art galleries in Malaga city later this year and with a solo Expo invitation to show next year.

Her website will be updated as usual.

With a background in Architecture and Interior Design, Elizabeth ran her own successful interior design business  from her central London showrooms.  At this time, Elizabeth began experimenting with painting her own watercolour images for use in her client refurbishment projects. As they became increasingly well received, she decided to make a career change and in 2007, become a full-time professional artist painting exclusively in oils. Later Elizabeth moved to Poole in Dorset, painting from her studio and ‘en plein air’, and also exhibiting in her Gallery.  There she is surrounded by stunning landscapes and light that are her constant source of inspiration.

Elizabeth’s work has been exhibited at a variety of prestigious Galleries and Art Events. These include The Chelsea Society of Art, London;  The Menier Gallery London SE1; Le Galleria Royal Opera Arcade, Pall Mall London SE1; The Brick Lane Gallery, Brick Lane, London E1; The Knapp Gallery, Regents Park London; The POSK Gallery, Hammersmith; The Gaf Gallery, Westbourne, Poole, Dorset. Elizabeth has attended a variety of art fairs, in the UK and abroad.

She was commissioned by the Board of the renowned SHASHOUA Foundation to create a series of paintings. This was followed by an invitation to be part of their permanent exhibition, last shown in London in 2011. These paintings are part of a significant private collection, which continues to be exhibited around the world.
