Inspiration is endlessly sourced when I stroll along the miles of sandy beaches, with my sketch pad or field easel (and my dog!) on a sunny day. These seascapes are mostly painted ‘en plein air’ which is a French word meaning in the open air.
I love to set up my field easel in the early morning or last thing in the evening to capture the wonderful skies or glistening sandy beaches close by to me in this wonderful micro climate area of Poole.

Thank you for viewing my collection of Seascape Paintings. As you will have seen most of these oil paintings are of my local area on the Dorset Coast. I am based near Sandbanks in Poole and have the very good fortune to be able to capture the changing moods of the sea and coast line throughout the seasons and at different times of day.
The ever changing seas and headlands are a rewarding challenge to paint. From sunrise to twilight and sunset I have found that painting in oils is the perfect way to bring these seascapes to life.
